The ASPRI Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2012 was an exciting and memorable one as members not only gathered to witness the voting in of ASPRI 9th Executive Council but reminisced how Mr. James Goh, the Immediate Past President (IPP) has contributed to ASPRI since its inception in 1997 (formerly known as Process Industry Contractors Association Singapore (PICAS), especially during his recent 8 years of Presidency (2008-2012).
The meeting at the Compass Ballroom of the Raffles Marina on 20 July 2012 had a turnout of 90 representatives from 72 member companies. The event kick started with a comprehensive presentation on the various government assistance programmes available for our member companies. A Question and Answer session was held for members to clarify their concerns and issues. Thereafter, a scrumptious lunch buffet was provided, where members had the opportunity to catch up with old friends and network with new members.
The AGM commenced with Mr. Goh’s presentation on the past events for the year. This was followed by Mr. Lim Jit Say, Executive Director presenting the proposed amendments in ASPRI’s Constitution. Next, came the came the voting for the Asst. Secretary as well as 3 positions as Committee Member.
Thereafter was sentimental session as Mr. Quek, the new President gave a tribute to Mr. James Goh. It was also a momentous occasion for Ms. Maria Binte Mazlan, Testing and Training Executive of ASPRI Secretariat as she received a watch for her 5-year long-service award. Last but not least, ASPRI also presented certificates and tokens of appreciations to the participating companies.
All in all, it was an eventful AGM and the 9th Executive Council is geared up to usher in a brand new term and serve its members.
