Reminiscent of the good old days where the entire kampung congregated, carrying brightly lit lanterns and firecrackers to signify the festival; that was how it was on 21 September 2018, Friday when the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI) organised a Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration. ASPRI was delighted to be one of the event sponsors so as to invite families and friends of its member companies and staff to join in the carnival.
The festivities kick-started with a LED-adorned lion dance entrance to welcome Guest-of-Honour, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Coordinating Minister of for Infrastructure & Minister for Transport. Together with Mr. Khaw, Mr. Francis Tay, Vice-President of ASPRI 12th Executive Council and other Trade Association and Chamber (TAC) representatives partook in the ceremonious hanging of couplets, as herald of prosperity and good fortune for the TA Hub tenants and all.
Many members of ASPRI had a whale of time joining ASPRI and its TACs co-tenants in this family-oriented celebration, bustling with customary highlights such as Chinese Dance, Martial Arts lanterns procession, tea appreciation. Fun-filled activities were enjoyed by people of all ages including lantern riddles, movies screening, lanterns making, key chain makings, dough moon cakes makings. Free lanterns and balloons added more joys for the youngs. The celebrations climaxed with fireworks but the merry makings extended into the evening, won praises and created beautiful memories for all.
