On Friday, 19 August 2016, ASPRI held its 19th Lunar Month Celebration. The scorching sun did not deter the big crowd to attend the day prayer and vegetarian lunch buffet at ASPRI Integrated Training Centre (AITC). All gathered enthusiastically to pray for the Industry’s safety and prosperity. This year, ASPRI was honoured to have Mr. Christopher Koh, Director of Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to join us in the networking lunch with our member companies which is a testimonial of a stronger Public Private Partnership (PPP).
As for the dinner, over 450 pax gathered at the newly-developed Terusan Recreation Centre (TRC), which is beside our Association’s newly built-for-purpose ASPRI-Westlite Dormitory-Papan and AITC, instead of the usual place at Carpark C – Jalan Buroh Junction.
As usual, corporate Social Responsibility has always been in ASPRI’s blood. Once again, Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF) was selected as one of the beneficiaries. Despite the industry slowdown, philanthropic Aedge Holdings Pte Ltd and Mighty Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd bidded a total of $10,000, which earned the iconic “Unbelivable” song from KDF Ambassador, Mr. Chen Tian Wen.
In addition, HSL Constructor Pte Ltd, company of ASPRI President, successfully bidded another charity item with a donation of $10,000, which would go to the Pioneer CCC Community Development & Welfare Fund.
Furthermore, Centurion Corporation Ltd, our Dormitory Partner, has also successfully bidded for another charity item with a donation of $2,000 to the Taman Jurong CCC Community Development & Welfare Fund. Another big thumbs-up for HSL Constructor Pte Ltd for topping up another $8,000 generously as a donation to Taman Jurong CCC.
Needless to say, with the presence of EDB, SPRING Singapore and JTC Corporation representatives on the event ground had made this event successful in connecting our members with industry stakeholders.
All in all, over $30,000 was raised for charity this year, and ASPRI is grateful for the generous support from our members who attended and bidded. Last but not least, kudos to our close partner, JTC Corporation for renting the Multi-Purpose Hall of the TRC to ASPRI for the event.
