[Postponed] Geopolitical Trends in the Indo-Pacific by Mr Bilahari Kausikan, Chairman of NUSMiddle East Institute

The UAE Singapore Business Council (UAESBC) would like to announce that their upcoming Quarterly Breakfast Talk featuring His Excellency Bilahari Kausikan on 31 March has been postponed until further notice. The postponement is to accommodate concerns about the COVID-19 Pandemic and the calls to avoid non-essential face-to-face gatherings. UAESBC, in consultation with His Excellency, schedule a future date when the dust settles vis-a- vis COVID 19.

For members who registered and wish to be reimbursed for your registration fees, please email hudaaljunied@uaesbc.com your bank account or PayLah/PayNow details before 12 noon, Tuesday, 24th March. If UAESBC does not hear from you by then, they will keep this amount as a credit and reserve your seat for when His Excellency’s talk actually occurs.

The ‘Indo–Pacific’ construct has gained significant attention globally and is advancing rapidly. There is broad agreement that the Indo-Pacific region is a focus of business as it will be the centre of the global economy.

As such, UAE Singapore Business Council (UAESBC) is honoured to host the Chairman of the NUS Middle East Institute and former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Bilahari Kausikan, as the featured speaker at the upcoming UAESBC Quarterly Breakfast Talk on Geopolitical Trends in the Indo-Pacific region.

Speaker’s Profile

Bilahari Kausikan is currently Chairman of the Middle East Institute, an autonomous institute of the National University of Singapore. He has spent his entire career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before retiring as Ambassador-at-Large in 2018. During his 37 years in the Ministry, he served in a variety of appointments at home and abroad, including as the Second Permanent Secretary and Permanent Secretary. He holds degrees from the National University of Singapore and Columbia University.
