“Vaccinate or Regular Test” regime for Process sector from 1 Oct 2021
In accordance with the Multi-Ministry Taskforce announcement on 6 August, Marine and Process (M&P) sectors will implement “Vaccinate or Regular Test” (VoRT) regime from 1 October 2021. Please refer to the EDB advisory here.
Marine and Process worksites are assessed as high-risk settings and testing remains a key strategy in VoRT regime. Regardless of vaccination status, individuals working in these sites must be tested to enable us to detect possible COVID-19 infections early and to keep workers safe.
Companies are advised to encourage medically eligible unvaccinated workers to undergo vaccination. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after he or she has received the full regime of the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty or Moderna vaccine, or other vaccines in the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing. Medically eligible unvaccinated workers should complete their second dose by 17 September 2021 in order to be considered fully vaccinated on 1 October 2021.
More details on the M&P VoRT SMM and test regimes for both vaccinated and unvaccinated workers will be announced later. EDB will inform companies as soon as new information is available and seek your understanding on this.
